Description

Malo 36 For Sale

The Malo 36 is a favourite of ours as she packs so much usable accommodation into a 36ft package and is a true go anywhere yacht.

With her sweet sheer line, medium displacement and well thought-out deck, the Malo 36 has all the hallmarks of a purposeful cruising yacht. Practical detailing and superior Swedish craftsmanship merge to give her a striking appearance and she feels large for a 36ft yacht.

OWNERS COMMENTS:

Laid down in 1998 and completed by Malo yachts in 1999, with hand fitted Khaia Mahogany interior, Ghillemar was sold by Jan Balkema yachts in Holland to a German owner and sailed from the Balkema yard, where she was stored under cover in winter. She is a solidly engineered and built yacht, fully capable of offshore sailing with a deep safe cockpit, large saloon and impressive stowage space as well as two sleeping cabins.

Bought by the current second owner in 2011, she was in pristine condition, with 3300m on her log, sailed mainly in Dutch inland waters and the Ijsslemeer. She was sailed back to her current base in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, and day sailed in Dublin bay and surrounds, with an annual cruise. She has visited the South West coast of Ireland, the Isles of Scilly, Brittany, Normandy, Scotland and the Outer Hebrides, and circumnavigated Ireland last summer. She now has 9900 m on her log from new, with approximately 1000 engine hours.

She has been carefully maintained and upgraded by the current owner, with an annual engine service and hull polish, and was antifouled and launched in April 2018, ready to cruise this season.
Upgrades in her current ownership include:

Raymarine ST6002 Autopilot
Removable inner forestay with sails
Raymarine C120 multi function display, integrated with electronics
Raymarine Radar
Raymarine VHF
Gas Strut to rodkicker
Lazy jacks and sail cover
Sprayhood 2015
Stern gland hose and seals 2018
Sony stereo
