Description

Maxi 1050 for sale.

The Swedish Maxi 1050 designed by Pelle Peterson has been described by the UK Yachting press as an elegant and comfortable yacht with excellent performance.

With her good looks, high quality Swedish finish and sparkling sailing performance the 1050 certainly ticks all the right boxes. Not only that, she is also capable of long distance cruising with a French Maxi 1050, finishing 7th overall in the Cruiser Section and 1st in her class in the 2009 ARC.

This particular smart white hulled example was completed in 2007 and launched in 2008 and has had very light use since then, sailing locally in UK waters, and with just circa 320 engine hours.

Full details are in the specification section but her notable highlights include:

Larger than standard 29hp engine with low engine hours
3 blade Flexofold folding propeller - NEW in 2016
“Stack Pack” sail bag with lazy jacks by Dolphin sails - NEW in 2015
Raymarine ST60+ Log, depth, wind instruments
Raymarine E80 Plotters at chart table and at helm – fully networked

Survitec Crewsaver 4 man life raft - serviced June 2018
Zodiac Cadet Fast Roller 260 inflatable with “air deck” floor

OWNERS COMMENTS:
The Maxi 1050 is a performance cruising yacht, designed by Pelle Peterson and built in Sweden by Maxi Yachts. Windsong was commissioned for her first owners in April 2008 and was, we understand, sailed in 2008/09/10 in the Solent with one trip to the West Country. We believe that she was stored ashore in 2011, and when we bought her in October 2011 she had only 60 engine hours. Since then she has been based at Woolverstone Marina, on the East coast near Ipswich. We have used her for day and weekend sailing in the local area, as far north as Aldborough and as far south as the Blackwater. She has therefore been lightly used throughout her life and has never been raced. The Maxi 1050 is however capable of long distance cruising and a French Maxi 1050, for example finished 7th overall in the Cruiser Section and 1st in her class in the 2009 ARC.

She is a super sailing boat, easy and responsive to sail and rewarding to helm, and capable in all conditions. The larger than standard 29hp engine, Flexofold propeller and spade rudder make her very easy and manoeuvrable under power.

THE VESSEL IS LYING: Woolverstone Marina, near Ipswich. Will be relocated to Hamble in late August 2018.
