In line with the current safe viewing guidance and advice from ABYA we plan to re-commence viewings from June 1st 2020.
Details of this advice can be found at https://abya.co.uk/news/covid-19-guidelines-for-clients-on-viewings/
The medical information is that the Covid-19 pathogen is known to be present in air for 3 hours and up to 2-3 days on surfaces. Shiny surfaces hold the pathogen on the surface, whereas more porous surfaces soak it in, meaning shiny surfaces, such as are found on boats, are liable to hold these pathogens on the surface. ABYA advice is that a boat should be unused for up to 72 hours between viewings to avoid the transmission.
Therefore initially, before booking a live viewing, clients will be encouraged to evaluate if the yacht is potentially right for them by first using our high quality photos or video tours, along with a detailed discussion with the broker to assess if taking the next step of a live viewing is the safe and correct thing to do.
Bookings for live viewings will then revolve around a 72 hour quarantine period between any visit to each yacht and will follow a pre-arranged appointment and non-contact protocol.
This procedure will allow clients to view the yacht at their leisure and in a relaxed manner, knowing no one else has been below for at least 72 hours.
We will open and air the yacht and be available at a safe distance to talk through the yacht via telephone and video links.
Yacht purchases and legal conveyancing can then all be non-contact and completed using the up-to-date digital operations we already have in place via; telephone, internet, digital document creation, digital signatures, digital banking, email and Royal Mail Special Delivery.
In the meantime, our listings have full specifications, comprehensive up to date photographs and in many cases interior walkthrough videos, allowing you to browse the yachts from your armchair.
We continue to market our yachts through all available channels. All of our worldwide advertising accounts are fully operational.
Please also follow our Facebook page for more updates.
And please follow the current government advice here: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
We look forward to welcoming you aboard the yachts soon.
