OWNERS PERSONAL COMMENTS:

We were looking for a well-built modern yacht that would take up to four of us blue water cruising with the intention of doing the ARC in 2019 which we did last year. We were lucky to see her at the Contest Yard and fell in love with her space, looks and exceptionally high quality fit out.
She sails fast with ease and is fantastically comfortable down below in any sea, to be honest unlike our last boats you can’t really tell what’s going on unless you come up top to take over your watch!

We invested a lot into her to take part in the ARC Plus, and loved it, but with family circumstances and the COVID crisis it means we have to change tack with her earlier than anticipated and let someone else enjoy her capabilities. We will miss her and are not sure we will ever get as good a boat back that could look after us as well as Cara. It was not our intention to part with her so soon. Life!

For the crossing with three, she took all the stores we needed, including an extra 1000 litres of bottled water, plus spares and enough food to keep us going for a month.

Her kit, all of it, never let us down except for a broken shower drain pump on the entire trip. Our water maker was excellent and although that model is a little noisy, I would not hesitate to buy the same again. The power generation was fantastic, we never had a need to run her engine for charging at all, the Duogen was fabulous and the Hydrovane was always foolproof.

We have also installed under the port side locker a spare diesel tank with 85 litre capacity, complete with separate fuel filler and pump to give an increased motoring range of approx 500 miles. She cruises at 5 knots at 1800 rpm at about 3-3.5 l/h. Her max speed under engine is approx 7-8 knots.

We hope Cara's new owners will value her and enjoy her as much as we have.
