Hugely re-fitted in 2019 for an ARC crossing with a family of four, including new standing & running rigging, a new suite of electronics, ARC compliant safety kit and much much more, Oyster Moon has just been shipped back from Antigua via yacht transporter to the Hamble UK.
An attractive yacht with a particularly smart interior, she is well equipped for self sufficient and comfortable long-distance passagemaking and her sail handling is a breeze with in-mast furling and electric winches.
The Oyster 47 is the development of the successful Oyster 45, with the same proven rig and accommodation layout. Holman and Pye extended the hull and deck to allow a deep and spacious aft lazarette giving extra deck storage space.
The layout of three sleeping cabins, coupled with the deck saloon concept make her one of the most desirable configurations for a couple or family looking to embark on an extended cruising voyage.
Continuously upgraded in recent years most notably in 2019, more details are in the full specification section but her notable highlights include:
2 x Lewmar electric 58 two speed, self-tailing primary winches.

OWNERS COMMENTS:
We have loved owning this beautiful yacht which we bought in February 2019 specifically for a family adventure.
Prior to leaving the UK in June 2019 we embarked on an extensive modernisation and maintenance project to ensure trouble free sailing, improved performance and of course safety. The extent of this can be seen from the specification list but this works primarily focused on electronic systems, safety equipment and systems, rigging, drive systems, power and water generation and where possible aesthetics.
After sailing to the Canary Islands from the UK we took part in the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers (ARC) Plus to the Caribbean via Cape Verde. After a number of months cruising the Caribbean we decided to return to the UK (amid the current pandemic) and ship Oyster Moon home. Throughout this journey we have continued to improve and maintain Oyster Moon to ensure she remained in peak performance. She has never missed a beat and the new navigation systems make for worry free coastal and off shore sailing no matter what the weather, day or night.
‘Oyster Moon’ has been a wonderful home and companion. She has never let us down, whatever the weather has thrown at us. We have found her to be luxurious yet practical to live on board and easy to sail and handle at sea. She is designed, built and equipped for ocean cruising and as our adventure is over for now it is time for her to continue with new owners.
